Every season we learn about a new edible plant species and we think “thats edible and we didn't know the whole time?!” and this season it's begonias. According to the internet all begonia varieties are edible, and there are a TON of varieties especially available here in South Florida. Another reason to get excited about growing begonias in your garden? THEY LIKE THE SHADE! yes, you heard me right... a flowering plant that likes the shade is a rarity indeed. Be forewarned, they don't like deep shade, so a garden that gets early morning or late day sunlight is ideal. We've purchased a variety of begonias from a local grower for you to choose from. Starting begonia from seed can be quite challenging.

These plants were not grown organically by us, we purchased them from a conventional nursery.
