Workshop: Introduction to Beekeeping, Sunday October 14th
This product is currently sold out.
Join us at the farm on Sunday October 14th for a morning of local honey tasting, beekeeping 101 and to participate as beekeeper Rebecca Wood of Comb Cutters opens several hives to show us what's inside. Comb Cutters is a live bee removal and education organization run by two local young women, Rebecca and Monique Moyer. They brought bees to our North Miami farm location almost three years ago and it's been amazing to watch them work with their hives. We're excited to share the experience with you and send you home with fresh local honey.
This workshop is geared towards adults, but people of all ages are welcome to participate.
When: Sunday October 14th
Where: Little River Coop farm, located at 360 ne 154th Street in Biscayne Gardens (please note this is not our nursery location in Allapattah which is listed on google maps)
This is one of our most intimate workshops so space is limited. Sign up soon if you've got your heart set on it. We will provide protection veils for all participants, but feel free to bring your own if you have it. In order to be protected from the random sting here and there you should wear long pants, closed shoes and bring a long sleeve shirt and gardening gloves to put on when we open the hives. Keep in mind it will be at our farm which is quite primitive; that means it will take place entirely outdoors, but we will be in the shade most of the time.
Due to the size and nature of our workshops and special events they are non-refundable. If notice is given 48 hours in advance we can try to replace you (we often have waiting lists of people who may want your spot), however if no replacement is found a refund will not be given. Thanks for understanding!
