Sometimes when we go shopping at other local wholesale nurseries certain plants that we've never seen before will pop up and we cant help but try and figure out what they are, especially if they are smelly! This beautiful waxy leafed small tree did that just last week and when we crushed and sniffed the leaves we immediately fell in love. This tree is in the same family as Sechuan Peppercorn so its leaves have a very unique aroma thats a mix of citrus, peppercorns, and pez candy (according to our nursery team!). This makes a good bonsai specimen, which means its relatively slow growing and takes well to pruning and shaping. We haven't ever grown this before, but we recently ran into a huge bonsai specimen loving its life at fairchild in the dry desert display, so make sure it gets well drained soil.
