Legion Park Farmers Market
We have been participating in the Legion Park Farmers Market for 6 years and love our market community very much. The market, managed by Urban Oasis Project, takes place every Saturday from 9am - 2pm in the Legion Park (6601 Biscayne Boulevard) in the historic MiMo District in the Upper East Side. The Legion Park has beautiful old oak trees lining a walkway to the Biscayne Bay, which is where the market vendors set up their varied stalls.
While our market may be small it is filled with amazing small businesses that are passionate about high quality local food. Our market is a producer only market when it comes to farms, so all produce sold there is guaranteed grown locally and responsibly (many markets welcome vegetable resellers who don't grow or sell any local produce). Non-farm vendors include a butcher, empanada makers, bakeries, kombucha & fermented goods, fresh made juices, soaps and body products, and ready made foods.
The market is reopening for the fall/ winter season Saturday December 12th and will be happening every Saturday for the foreseeable future. Hopefully we can operate safely with our new Covid 19 protocols and continue to serve the community. For more information on the market and vendors visit their Facebook page. Masks are currently required for all shoppers and virtual no contact payment options are preferred.
We partner with French Farms to set up a booth between November and April where you can buy his locally grown organic produce as well as our plant starts, organic fertilizers, organic seeds and gardening supplies. The most popular items at our booth are usually French Farms' salad mixes, pasture raised local eggs, and plants from our nursery. We also make and sell tinctures, fermented foods like sauerkraut and kimchi, and herb & edible flower mixes from our flower gardens. We pack a variety of our most popular veggie gardening plants for market every week and we bring with us seed packets, organic fertilizer, and hand tools so you can stop by and grab whatever you may need for your weekend gardening to-do list.
