1 pint peppers: choose from shishito, aji limon or heatless habanero
This variant is currently sold out
This time of year our happy healthy pepper plants start producing more because they are one of the rare plants that love the small increase in temperature.
Shishito peppers are mostly mild however 1 in 5 have a bit of heat. They are considered a delicacy when blistered in a hot pan coated in oil and then sprinkled with a flaky finishing salt.
Heatless habaneros also known as Numex Suave Orange or Habanada are a variety of habanero made popular by Dan Barber of Blue Hill restaurant and Row 7 seed breeders that has the sought after flavors of a habanero without the heat. The flesh of these beautiful green ones contain no heat, and the pith and seed will add a touch of heat if you use them in your dish. Use green or allow them to slowly ripen in the fridge to a peach tone.
Aji limon aka Lemon Drop pepper is our favorite spicy pepper because its so prolific, easy to grow, and delicious. As its name suggests there is a hint of citrus to this spicy peppers flesh. This pepper is very common in Peru and has a heat level close to a cayenne.
