This Dutch variety was judged the best Boston-type lettuce in the 1983 Rodale Research Center trials. Excellent heat and cold tolerance plus resistance to lettuce mosaic virus. Produces small 5 oz loose, light green heads with nice buttery flavor. This variety is recommended with consistent high praise from customers at Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, and we tried growing it last year too with great results. As with all lettuce varieties you can choose to grow it for full head harvest or choose to direct seed it densely for baby leaf production. If you’re growing it as baby leaf its considered a “cut and come again” crop, where you can harvest all the leaves with scissors and theyll grow back in a few weeks.
