Tropical sage (also known as scarlet sage, red salvia & blood sage) is one of our favorite native wildflowers to add to the gardens that we build & maintain. Not only do all the pollinators go wild for this one (hummingbirds, butterflies & bees) but it seeds itself and reproduces itself very easily once planted. So plant one pot of this stuff and youll have it popping up randomly in your native landscaping for years to come. There are natural variations in the colors so sometimes you'll get some pink or even white flowering plants from the seed that is dropped. Tropical sage is native throughout Florida and can tolerate poor sandy soils like we have here in South Florida.
