The cost of the small share is $525.00, which equals $25 per week plus a $25 processing fee. You will pick up veggies for 20 consecutive weeks between November 2016 and April 2017 at the Upper East Side Farmers Market (located in Legion Park at Biscayne blvd and 66th street) every Saturday from 10am-2pm.
Choose between paying the full price of the share up front or half of it. By choosing the half payment your spot in the CSA is reserved and the remainder of your balance will be due one month later. We'll send you a reminder email!

The small share is ideal for one or two people, but will also suit a family who eats out often or still visits the grocery store regularly and wants access to local veggies, fruits and herbs. The contents of our CSA directly reflect the changing seasons in South Florida; for example, December-January there may be lots of tomatoes and greens, but as summer draws near we will include more summer friendly crops like okra and yucca. Our CSA tends to be heavy on the greens, but we make sure find a balance by including at least one root veggie, a salad mix, a cooking green, a snack veggie (ex. sugar snap peas, cherry tomatoes or baby carrots), kitchen herbs and one or two fruits every week. The share contains both traditional western european vegetables like carrots, spring onions, tomatoes, broccoli and radishes, mixed with specialty tropical items that you may or may not already be familiar with like yucca, roselle, seminole pumpkin and calalloo. Our website and weekly blog posts will include explanations for the plants you may not be familiar with along with suggestions for use and recipes.
We grow lots of greens and radishes ourselves and we source additional varieties of produce and fruit from other local farms; bananas, starfruit and other more rare tropical fruit from LNB Groves, staples like carrots, beets and lettuce from French Farms, heirloom tomatoes from Michael Borek Farm and super unique offerings like heirloom corn grits or organic brown rice from specialty farmers throughout Florida. We send out a weekly list of what we will be including in your Saturday pickup so that you can prepare and shop accordingly and our blog will always have tips on how to use unique vegetables.
The small share is a good choice for getting a taste of truly seasonal veggies, without being totally overwhelmed with produce. Additional items like Zak the Baker bread, local free range eggs, local honey and extra produce will be available for purchase in person when you pick up your share so that you can stock up if you have visitors or if you're planning to attend a potluck that week.
Signing up for 20 weeks of vegetables, even with a small share is a commitment; you would be surprised how challenging it can be to make sure every last radish is eaten, so be prepared to cook creatively with whats in your box and find new ways to store or preserve some of your bounty. For example, blanch and freeze excess green beans or pickle those leftover turnips, radishes and carrots that have been collecting in your produce drawer for a few weeks.
