Crispy crunchy sweet peas are very popular with home growers (especially ones with picky young eaters in the house!) because they are easy to grow, sweet and delicious however beware when planning a garden that includes snap peas, as they really aren’t well suited to our climate and have to be planted during our very “coldest” months of the year only. That being said, consider saving your snap pea enthusiasm for November & December, January at the latest! Snap peas need to be trellised but they do most of the work themselves. Once your peas start producing harvest every other day to make sure you get the beans before they are too fibrous. The beautiful lavender, blue & white flowers are edible too!
