Celebrity Plus is a very popular fruit grown by lots of small growers throughout the Southeast. And wow, look at this disease package: resistant to fusarium crown and root rot, fusarium wilt, tomato mosaic virus, verticillium wilt, tomato spotted wilt, and the most important pest to avoid for growers in miami… NEMATODES! If you’ve spent a couple of years gardening already then you’ll know how frustrating nematodes can be. They are microscopic and live in your soil so you wont know that you have them until your frustrating low yield gardening season is over and you pull up your plants and see the damage they have done to your root systems. Planting resistant varieties is one way to minimize their damage. Besides that you can do root drenches with nematocides, add crab meal to your soil, and you can add lots of organic matter to your garden throughout the growing season. Choose this plant if you know you have nematodes but you still want to try growing tomatoes.
