Welcome to our new Plant Index, a resource we hope you will find valuable when gardening in South Florida. During the COVID-19 lockdown, we built an online store for our small plant nursery that contained vital information about over 400 plants that we grow and sell locally. This summer we retired our online store so that we can focus our energy on our brick and mortar (or field and grass, if you will) retail location, but its important to us that we continue to share information on all of our plants with the public.

Our new Plant Index includes all varieties that we sell at our nursery & recommend growing in the current season. We will update the entries as the seasons change. We have over a decade of experience growing food organically in South Florida and we focus our inventory on varieties that we consider “easy to grow” for beginner gardeners. This index of plants is not considered to be a comprehensive list of every single thing one can grow in South Florida, however they are our tried and true varieties that we know will work better than other options you may be considering. When choosing what varieties to grow in our unique climate (USDA plant hardiness zone 10b) we consider disease resistant, heat tolerance, susceptibility to fungal issues, day length sensitivity and cultural importance.
