It’s hard not to gush about this sweet Passiflora. Corkystem Passionvine is a native Florida passionflower and only maybe as big as the tip of your finger. Native to the Americas, its  range stretches from Florida and the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas in the United States south through Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean to South America. It is commonly known as corkystem passionflower due to the corkiness of older stems. This Barbie sized fruit is not hardy and transitions from green to indigo, purple and, lastly, black as it ripens. However small this species may be, it is still host plant to the caterpillars of many butterfly species, such as the zebra heliconian.
