LRC co-owner Muriel moved into a new house in 2023 and decided to build a dream garden for her family. Part of the magic of this quaint backyard landscape is that it’s designed for play and interaction. With two dogs, a toddler, a teen and a love for bbqing and bonfires, there is a lot going on in a small space. The design for this project leans into mimicking Florida wilderness using predominantly native plants, with an emphasis on wildflowers. The goal was to maximize biodiversity in order to attract as many pollinators and birds as possible. The kitchen garden is large, with 8 oversized raised beds to accommodate their passion for home grown veggies and the tree canopy includes some rare fruit trees like jackfruit, tamarind and Barbados cherry.
