Named from its spike resembling a Scorpion’s Tail, Heliotropium angiospermum is a member of the borage and forget-me-not family, Boraginaceae. Scorpion Tail is a perennial, shrub-like plant with unique white flowers that bloom year-round. It's nectar attracts a variety of butterflies, including the Miami blue and Schaus' swallowtail, amongst others. Easy to grow in full sun to partial shade, this herb can Tolerate dry, rocky or sandy soils and salt exposure. While it can be compact in growth, Scorpion Tale is sure to become a handsome, dense small shrub with regular moisture and fertilizer. Used frequently as a ground cover or small shrub, it is primarily recommended for natural landscapes, habitat restoration, and butterfly gardens.
