Striped german is a classic bicolor red and yellow fruit on an indeterminate vining plant. The flat, medium to large, variably ribbed-shoulder tomatoes are shaded yellow and red. The marbled interior looks beautiful sliced. Complex, fruity flavor and smooth texture. Medium-tall vines bear 12+ oz. fruit, although sometimes they reach 2 lbs! Farms throughout America have been growing this heirloom variety for years as part of their tomato selection with great success. Each tomato produced will be a different size and shape and many come out quite drastically misshaped, making it a fun plant to grow full of surprises. If you’re planning to have a few tomato plants in your garden make sure you also include some smaller varieties in your shopping cart, as they are a bit “easier” to grow in our humid climate.
