CSA Week Eighteen
When it rains it pours and this time we're not talking about water, we're talking about cucumbers and beans. We realize this will be your third week in a row getting cukes and you've gotten beans a lot lately too. We're including them again because the farm is yielding these crops really well and also because we feel these are veggies you all enjoy enough to eat over and over again. We're in mayor pickling mode this time of year and you should be too! It's time to take advantage of the bounty and save it for next month when there's no more CSA pick ups. Cucumbers and beans are both great items to ferment or pickle in vinegar.
We haven't been including much from Verde Farm the past few weeks because our fields were yielding a lot and so were French Farms'. This week the share is half from Verde Farm! They just started some fun crops we love to include whenever they have them; things like cherry tomatoes and patty pan squash... who doesn't love small cute veggies?! This is a picture of their patty pan field.
