In 2021 Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden invited LRC to design and build a vegetable garden exhibit. There couldn’t be a more beautiful setting for a garden, surrounded by exquisite tree specimens and rare flowering plants from around the world. The exhibit features 10 wood planters brought together with a series of ornamental arches. The goal here is to demonstrate the many edible and medicinal plant varieties in a kitchen garden. This project keeps the LRC maintenance team busy, with weekly visits to maintain the highest standards of plant health. The crops in this garden are allowed to bloom and fruit to their fullest potential so that visitors have an opportunity to experience plants in many stages of development. This garden is almost entirely educational so we designed a series of informative signs with QR codes that share bits of interesting and useful facts about different plants. Visitors are encouraged to explore and interact by touching, smelling and tasting.
