So you'd like to grow your own tomatoes?! Tomatoes are one of the most popular crops for home gardeners but they can also be quite challenging to grow, especially in our climate.

We've compiled an introduction to growing tomatoes for you to check out before you go shopping for plants, because there are lots of varieties to choose from and each one has different pros and cons based on your experience level, amount of space, and taste.

Our most popular varieties are Sungold cherry, Tidy Treats dwarf cherry, and our collection of humidity loving standard red slicers (like Kewalo, Anahu, Floradade, Homestead 24 & Tropic). If you are growing in containers or in a small space, consider choosing "determinate" types over "indeterminate". While determinate plants stay smaller all tomatoes need quite a bit of trellising so make sure you have the space and supplies needed and you do some planning before planting too many plants.
