Teachers
Thanks to the efforts of The Education Fund more than 225 teachers in Miami Dade County are now responsible for flourishing school gardens. We have plenty of resources for teachers to help get your garden growing right. Our nursery in Little Haiti is home to dozens of varieties of organic seedlings. Our inventory changes weekly depending on whats right for the season, which can be one of the trickiest parts of growing in South Florida's unique climate. We’re here to help you because we want school gardens growing at their utmost potential so make an appointment to come visit the nursery and we can talk you through everything. Our nursery is also home to an educational garden where we plant many of the varieties we sell; its a good example of what you can do to make a small space both beautiful and productive.
If your school doesn’t have a garden yet, you can apply for a grant from either Slow Food Miami or The Education Fund, they both support school gardens throughout South Florida. When you have secured funding we can step in to help too. We deliver raised beds, soil and plants, but most importantly, we're experienced farmers that can participate in planting your garden with your students and we're available to help your team of teachers learn about growing and caring for the garden.
