This March we are running our first ever sale on garden installations! Our most straightforward garden package that we offer is a 4 x 8 foot raised bed made of treated pine filled with organic garden soil, organic fertilizer, all the plants you'll need (you can send us a wishlist and we basically bring what you want to plant) fully installed and ready to go. During installation we can answer any questions you may have and we leave you with a 45 page booklet about how to care for your garden to make sure you are well positioned for success. One 4 x 8 foot garden bed is a good amount of space to supplement a families diet with some veggies, fresh herbs & salad greens through the fall, winter and spring growing season.
An example planting of a single raised bed would be the following:
2 cherry tomato plants
4 kale plants
a lettuce & arugula patch
a row of french breakfast radishes
a few unique items like tulsi for tea, cut flowers or a funky herb
one of each herb (or whatever herbs you use most in the kitchen)
Check out our list of plants on our Nursery page for inspiration of what you can grow in your home garden. We encourage newer home gardeners to focus their efforts on growing fresh salad greens & herbs in their backyard raised beds for a number of reasons. First, home gardens tend to be slightly shady, which is bad for growing hard veggies like tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, carrots, beets etc. and also those veggies can require a bit more maintenance and thusly a bit more knowledge in order to make them work and provide you with food. Also, we like to encourage people to grow things that are best used very fresh like salad and herbs, and also things that can make a big impact on your home cooking without a large amount of yield, like cilantro, parsley & hot peppers.
Our regular price for this garden package is 650$ however for the month of March we are reducing the price to $500*! Why are we doing this, you ask? Well, we are more than halfway through the growing season and we want to encourage those of you that think you are "too late" to start a gardening to get over it and jump on in! If you start a garden in March you'll still have April and May to grow yourself some food (greens and herbs grow super quick) plus you can work on your gardens soil health through the summer and you'll be super duper primed and ready for next fall because now you've got the hardest part of gardening (the raised bed & soil) out of the way.
If you'd like to take advantage of this offer just shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and include your address so we can get you scheduled for install! We are only accepting as many installations of sale priced beds as we can manage for the month so if you know you want to get a bed installed in March, be sure to email us well ahead of time.
*For scheduling reasons we aren't able to offer this special sale price to homes lying outside of our service area, which is highlighted in pink in the map below.
